Easter Break and End of Term Dates

Kia ora e te whānau

This year Easter break is within our school term rather than during the school holidays. This means school will be closed for Easter on Friday 29 March and we will return to school on Wednesday 3 April.

Term 1 finishes for the two week break on Friday 12 April and Term 2 begins Monday 29 April.

There are no early finishes on any of these dates, school finishes as normal at 3.05pm.

Lockdown lifted

Lockdown lifted 11:10am Tuesday 27 February 2024

This morning the College was advised by the New Zealand Police to go into lockdown. Following protocol, we immediately put the school into lockdown and advised the community via text message, SchoolBridge and our website.

The lockdown has now been lifted, all students and staff are safe and the school day has resumed.

I would like to thank the students and staff for acting so quickly and calmly when alerts were issued.

Also, I would like to remind the community not to contact the school during a lockdown, our phone lines need to remain clear for communication with the Police. You are also advised not to collect your child from school as this may potentially put yourself and your child in danger.

If you have questions or feedback in regard to the lockdown and our procedures and communications please contact us via email admin@naenae-college.school.nz

Learning Conferences 2024

We look forward to welcoming you to Learning Conferences 2024 and thank you for working together with us so that all Naenae College students experience success and build a meaningful pathway for their future.

We believe that these meetings will have a significant impact in helping sustain the positive partnership that exists between the students, their parents/caregivers and the school.

We will be holding our Learning Conferences for all students on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 March. These conferences will be a 20 minute meeting with yourself, your child, and their Learning Advisor Roopu (LAR) teacher.

The Learning Conferences will take place from 2.00pm until 5.00pm and from 5.30pm until 7.30pm on Tuesday 12 March and 2.00pm until 5.00pm on Wednesday 13 March. Normal school classes will conclude at 1.00pm on these days – students will still have their three timetabled classes each day, with shortened lesson times. We will finish with LAR Kai at 12.45pm.

Bookings for Learning Conferences are now open on our SchoolBridge App and will close at 3.30pm on Monday 11 March. If you or your child have not downloaded the School Bridge App, I have included information on how to do this below. As this is going to be our main form of communication between home and school, it is really important that students and parents/caregivers have this app.

Once you open SchoolBridge you will see the conferences button, from there you select LAR Teacher – Parent Meeting and follow the steps from there.

We believe that these meetings will have a significant impact in helping sustain the positive partnership that exists between the students, their parents / caregivers and the school.
