Sports Coordinator
(Part time, Fixed Term, Term time only)

Have a passion for sport, have strong interpersonal skills, are highly organised and know how to make things happen? We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Sports Coordinator to join our team. In this exciting role, you will support the Sports Director with administration and coordinating the delivery of sport, supporting our staff, learners, and coaches while inspiring and motivating students to reach their full potential. We encourage you to apply if you are a highly organised, multitasked individual with a passion for sports and a commitment to student success. A full drivers licence and available after 3pm for team game drop-offs and pick-ups is a must.

Supporting the Director of Sports with:

  • Increasing participation in sport and physical activity
  • Enhance the profile of sport and physical activity within the school and the greater community
  • Enhance student enjoyment and development from sport and physical activity
  • Support and promote the safe delivery of sport and physical activity to students
  • Encourage and enable students to participate at their desired level of sport.

The successful applicant will demonstrate leadership, a passion for youth education through sport and physical activity, excellent organisation and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people. Key Tasks will include:

  • Promoting the school’s sports program and strategic plan through effective communication and administration
  • Scheduling and organisation of sports events, competitions, trips and tournaments
  • Collaborating with coaches, teachers in charge of sports, and staff to develop and implement innovative sports programs
  • Manage and maintain sports equipment, uniforms, and facilities
  • Modelling and promoting the school’s values and learning ethos
  • Other tasks as may be reasonably requested from time to time.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working within a school environment and coaching and/or sports management experience.  The terms and conditions, including base salary for this position is set by the Support Staff Collective Agreement.

Teacher Aide

Naenae College is looking for an exceptional, empathetic person to work primarily with English Language Learners in their classes. This is a term time only, fixed term position available for a start in Term 2 and finishing on 12 December 2025.

To succeed in this position you will be energetic, flexible and ideally have experience in working with young people with additional educational needs and/or ESOL students. Our learning centre staff work full school days from 8.35am to 3.05pm (30 hours per week, 30 minutes unpaid lunchtime included).

Job tasks and Responsibilities

The following is a range of duties that can be required of this position holder:

  • Assisting students in lessons under the direction of the teacher in mainstream classes
  • Supporting individuals and or small groups of students in breakout situations
  • Supporting English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students under the direction of the classroom teacher
  • Supporting students on off-site trips and activities as required
  • Attending learning support meetings
  • Attending professional development as required
  • Maintaining professional confidentiality with regard to student information
  • Maintaining positive relationships with students with additional needs
  • Supervision and support of students with special conditions as necessary.

Remuneration is as per the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement and will be placed on a step according to skills and experience.
